Jasper Vol. Fire Dept.

The City of Jasper is proud of the Volunteer Fire Department and is beginning a major push to make it even better. A major goal, other than the priority of safety and fire protection of all citizens in the JFD, is to reduce the Insurance Services Office (ISO) rating  from a 7 to a 5 which would result in a twenty to twenty-five percent reduction in  property insurance premiums. Along with this, the Council voted to participate in the Arkansas FireWise Program in conjunction with the Arkansas Forestry Commission. Our district will be carefully mapped, all residents identified and a risk assessment will be completed to check to see if each home is accessible to fire trucks, if locked gates on the property, location of propane tanks, etc.

Pam Emerson has been appointed  Fire Chief and she and Volunteer Fire fighter Cody Hudson, will be working together to tackle this major project to be completed in three years. The FireWise Project requires a Board, and if you are interested in helping, please call Pam @ 446-2633. You do not have to be a Fire Fighter to be on this board though we do need more volunteer fighters. The boundaries of the Jasper Fire District are approximately Gum Springs Road on Highway 7 South, Pruitt Bridge on Highway 7 North, Phillips Sawmill on Highway 327, Cardinal Lane on Highway 74 West and to Rock Creek Road on Highway 74 East.
